Libya, Russia agree on boosting economic cooperation


The General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Libya signed with its Russian counterpart a joint agreement for cooperation in the economic field, as both agreed to strengthen bilateral relations.

This signing came during a meeting held in the Russian capital, Moscow, between the Chairman of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, Mohammed Raied and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Badalko.

The two parties agreed to commit to contributing to expanding communications between institutions, organizations, companies and businesspeople, and to provide assistance in organizing forums, conferences and meetings in the fields of economy and trade.

The agreement also stipulated the exchange of all information of joint interest related to the economy and foreign trade in the markets of both countries. It included holding regular meetings to evaluate the agreed-upon procedures, remove obstacles that hinder the development of economic cooperation, and consider current and future issues of bilateral cooperation.
