Brazil’s Senate has passed a resolution supporting Morocco’s autonomy plan offered for the Sahara under its sovereignty, urging their country to recognize the serious efforts made by Rabat for a lasting and peaceful settlement of the Sahara regional conflict.
“Time has come for our country to recognize Morocco’s realistic autonomy plan, the basis for reaching a pragmatic political solution to the Sahara issue in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” said the senators in the motion approved by the Parliament’s Upper House.
Brazil’s support of Morocco’s territorial integrity at the UN Security Council will strengthen further trust and open up opportunities for mutually beneficial strategic partnership, they stressed.
The two countries, which share huge economic potentials, have signed several cooperation agreements in food security, investment, defense, customs, digital transition, vocational training, scientific research, double taxation avoidance, tourism, industry…
Morocco continues to gain a growing support in Latin America for its territorial integrity and sovereignty over its Sahara, dealing a hard blow to polisario militia, armed, financed and sheltered by Algeria military junta.
